Kubota’s long-trusted sub-compact tractor line just got a major upgrade
PICKERING, ONTARIO, September 29, 2026 – Kubota Canada Ltd. today unveiled its all-new sub-compact tractor line, the BX90 Series. As the pioneer of the sub-compact category, Kubota introduced the original BX Series in 2000, and 26 years later, the company is building on that legacy and reinventing the segment by introducing five new models with three trim levels: the BX2190, BX2390 Deluxe, and BX2690 Premium, plus the backhoe-equipped BX2390S and BX2690S Premium. The new BX90 Series represents a complete platform redesign built specifically around what property owners want: all-day comfort, real loader power, and exceptional mowing performance, all in one sub-compact machine.

Three Core Advancements: Loader Capability, Mower Performance and Operator Comfort
Three platform-wide advancements form the foundation of every model in the new BX90 Series: improved loader capability, heavy-duty mower performance and more intuitive operation. Together, these enhancements elevate productivity, versatility and operator comfort across the entire BX90 lineup.
- Increased Loader Capability: The BX90 Series raises loader productivity with redesigned LA355 and LA405 loaders offering lift capacities of up to 721 and 904 pounds, respectively. The BX2390 and BX2690 models pair increased hydraulic flow and pressure with quicker cycle times and stronger response at lower engine speeds. Dual bucket cylinders, an improved rollback angle, protected hose routing, and an easier-to-align loader cradle are designed to support efficient operation, improve material retention, and enable more convenient loader attachment and removal.
- Heavy-Duty Mower Performance: The new 54-inch and 60-inch mower decks combine durable welded-steel construction with the flexibility to choose either pin-on or drive-over capability. The available Swift-Mount™ auto coupling driveline connects as the tractor travels over the deck, making attachment faster and more convenient.
- Operator Comfort and Intuitive Control: The all-new side-by-side HST pedals create a more natural operating position and make forward and reverse changes feel intuitive, helping operators work with greater comfort, confidence, and control.
Five BX90 Models Ready to Work Year-Round
The BX90 Series delivers the year-round versatility property owners expect from Kubota, from clearing snow and preparing gardens to mowing lawns, managing seasonal cleanup and moving material. With enhanced loader capability, multiple mower options and compatibility with a wide range of implements, the BX90 is equipped to take on the changing demands of property ownership.
Five available models give customers the flexibility to choose the capability, convenience, price point, and technology that best fit the way they work.
- BX2190 (19.3 gross horsepower): An accessible entry point to the BX90 lineup, combining essential BX versatility with the platform-wide enhancements and the LA355 loader. Its increased horsepower also supports larger tires and 60-inch mower-deck compatibility.
- BX2390 Deluxe (21.6 gross horsepower): Balances capability, convenience and value with redesigned styling, compatibility with the high-performance LA405 loader, and upgraded controls that include electronically controlled PTO engagement, three-point hitch position control, telescopic stabilizers and simplified mower-deck height adjustment.
- BX2690 Premium (23.9 gross horsepower): The most advanced BX model to date, featuring an electronically controlled engine, full-colour LCD display, programmable engine-speed settings, and joystick-integrated throttle-up functionality, which provides on-demand, fingertip access to preset engine speed for faster hydraulic response and more engine power during loader work.
- BX2390S and BX2690S Premium: Two backhoe-equipped configurations featuring the new BT604 backhoe, a dedicated flip-up seat and an automatic stabilizer lock. The BX2690S Premium adds the LA405 loader and enhanced hydraulic performance for greater working capability.
Availability
The new BX90 Series will be available at Kubota authorized dealerships beginning in early 2027.
